One India Pension

Every Indian citizen above 60years will get pension from ₹10000. That is the idea of One India One Pension. The idea of this association is wide spread through social medias. The Facebook page of One India One Pension (OIOP) alone has almost 3 lakhs followers.

In a very short time every person including housewife, farmers, NRIs, small shop keepers, street vendors etc would get a amount a pension under this plan. Every person born in India pays tax for anything and everything we buy right from our childhood. Even on buying a ball pin a certain percentage is paid as tax indirectly. There Is tax involved in everything and anything we do. The 80% of the amount received as tax is used to pay salaries and pension to government employees of the state. The question OIOP puts forth is “Don’t the commoners also have equal right to get pension just like government employees?

Our government is now paying pension for farmers, widows,ex-government employees, senior citizens etc. There are government employees in our state who receive pension upto ₹100000 per monthly. In the same place there are farmers and senior citizens who receive pension of ₹1500- ₹2000. The sad truth is that with ₹1500-₹2000 it’s difficult to make ends meet and in case of any contingency the commoners life falls at a stake. The idea of OIOP came to minds of people with this difference in the society. A group of rich remains rich forever, they get a hefty amount as pension even after retirement. And the other group remains poor with very small amount as pension not even enough to meet basic medical needs. The basic pension amount of central government employee is ₹35000. ₹1.8 lakh crores is paid as Pension for Central Government employees alone per month in our state. Approximately ₹1200000 crores is paid as pension in the entire country for Central Government employees alone.

The first suggestions of OIOP is to stop the payment of excess pension to these ex-employees instead distribution of those amount equally to commoners as well. By doing it this way the heavy burden of paying huge amount pension can be reduced.
Another suggestion is tax is levied on everything in the form of various cess. If the government can keep aside one such cess for the payment of pension for commoners it can also help the society become self sufficient. And can also help in reducing the collection of various funds like poverty eradication fund, pension funds etc. Even giving subsides can be reduced and gradually stopped.

Thus in every fields with proper planning and implementation and optimum use of resources cost can be reduced to a great extend. Which will in turn help in paying a pension of above ₹10000 for every senior citizen of India.
